Socio-Affective Strategy Towards Students’ Self-Esteem in Speaking Ability

چکیده

This study aimed to find out the use of Socio-Affective Strategy towards students' self-esteem in speaking ability. was carried at one Junior High School, located Pakem, Sleman Regency, Special Region Yogyakarta. research used mix method combining two kind researches, quantitative and qualitative. The participants this were class from several classes junior high school academic year 2022/2023 with a total 32 students. instruments conduct data for observation, questionnaires in-depth interview. results indicated that many students still believe their abilities need improvement, but does not cause them feel less than they are. means have self-esteem, there are some who low self-esteem. teachers' opinion about has been confirmed by survey which shows discussing friends groups, it can increase courage confidence, especially when English. gives insight field language education activating fostering students’ skill.
